10 platoons BGB deployed in Dhaka, Chittagong
To ensure law and order, four platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in Dhaka, while six platoons have been stationed in Chittagong.
The deployment was confirmed on Tuesday morning by Md Shariful Islam, public relations officer of the BGB Headquarters. Two separate message was issued on this regard.
In Dhaka, BGB personnel have been positioned in the Shahbagh, Matsya Bhaban, and Hotel Intercontinental areas.
Similarly, six platoons of BGB members are actively working to maintain peace and order in Chittagong city.
It is known that the detective police arrested the former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari from the capital's Shahjalal International Airport on Monday (November 25) afternoon on his way to Chattogram.
When he was produced before the court of Kazi Shariful Islam of Chattogram Metropolitan-6 on Tuesday (November 26) afternoon, the judge rejected his bail in the sedition case and ordered him to be sent to jail.
The government has taken precautionary measures across the country to maintain normalcy in the situation.
