Spot LNG cargoRPGCL retenders for Dec 30-31 delivery
The state-run Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Ltd (RPGCL) has reissued a tender in order to purchase one spot LNG cargo for the December 30-31 delivery window, according to sources.
The initial tender, which was floated last week, got only one bid from Gunvor Singapore Pte Ltd.
However, it became non-responsive due to lower-than-required bids for evaluation as per the Public Procurement Rules (PPR) 2008.
The bid winners will deliver the LNG cargo at Moheshkhali Island in the Bay of Bengal, with options to discharge it at either of the two floating, storage and regasification units (FSRUs) on the island.
The volume of each of the spot LNG cargo will be an estimated 3.36-million British thermal unit (MMBtu).
Bangladesh previously awarded its latest spot LNG cargo tender to Total Energies Gas and Power Ltd at $14.57 per MMBTu for the December 07-08 delivery window.
Separately, the country has been importing LNG from its two existing long-term LNG suppliers -- Qatargas and OQ Trading International -- for regasification in its two operational FSRUs.
