Khaleda Zia moved to CCU at Evercare Hospital

BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia has once again been moved to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for close observation, BNP Standing Committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday afternoon, Zahid Hossain said Khaleda Zia is under intensive monitoring in the CCU, supervised by local and foreign specialists on the medical board overseeing her treatment.

He, on behalf of the party, also urged the people of the country to pray to Almighty Allah for her recovery.

Earlier, Professor Dr FM Siddiqui, a member of the medical board formed for her treatment, said Khaleda Zia had developed a chest infection as well as heart and lung complications.

He disclosed the latest update on her condition on Sunday (23 November) night.

That evening, around 7:30pm, Khaleda Zia left her residence ‘Firoza’ for Evercare Hospital, where she was later admitted for a series of medical tests.
