69,000 pass written test for recruitment of primary teachers

The Directorate of Primary Education has published the results of the written examination for recruitment of teachers in government primary schools across 61 districts, with 69,265 candidates declared successful.

The results were announced at 7:30 pm on Wednesday.

The exam was held on Jan 9 at 1,408 centres nationwide. More than 200 candidates were expelled for resorting to unfair means and using electronic devices.

Officials, however, said no evidence of wider irregularities was found and the results were published accordingly.

Shahadat Hossain, acting public relations officer of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, confirmed the development.

“The results are being uploaded to the Directorate of Primary Education’s website and will be available shortly,” he said.
