Probe body formed over ‘bid to hijack’ Biman aircraft


A five-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the ‘attempt to hijack’ an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

The Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry formed the committee on Sunday night with Additional Secretary Md Mokabbir Hossain as its head, said a press release.

The other members of the committee are- joint secretary Zanendra Nath Sarker,
Director (Flight Safety & Regulations)of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Wing Commander Chy M Zia UlKabir, director (planning) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Air Commodore (rtd) Mahbub Jahan Khan, and senior security consultant of CAAB group captain (rtd) MdAlamgir.

The committee has been asked to submit its report within five working days.

Foiling his alleged bid to hijack a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft, members of joint forces killed a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport here on Sunday evening.
