PM inaugurates 12 development projects in Tangail


Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated 12 development projects, and laid the foundations of 19 other projects, in different parts of Tangail.

She reached the Kumudini Complex helipad in Tangail's Mirzapur, via an Air Force helicopter at 11am. Her sister Sheikh Rehana, and several other ministers, accompanied her. 

The projects that the prime minister has inaugurated and laid the foundations of, include the Dherua Railway Overpass, a 33/11 KV Switching Station, and a 33/11 KV 10 MVA Indoor Sub-Station.

Then, she joined the inaugural ceremony observing the 86th anniversary of the Kumudini Welfare Trust. 

As the chief guest of the Kumudini Complex and Bharateswari Homes, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the medals to the four eminent persons receiving this year’s Danveer Ranada Prasad Saha Gold Medal.

The awardees are: legendary political leader and former Prime Minister of erstwhile Pakistan, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy (posthumous); National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam (posthumous); Nazrul expert and researcher, Professor Rafiqul Islam; and eminent painter, Shahabuddin.

To welcome the prime minister, Kumudini Complex has been decorated and all the necessary security measures have been taken.

To add a twist to the welcoming ceremony of the prime minister, Kumudini authorities will prepare a traditional lunch for her, which will be served on a bell-metal tray. There will be 30-33 items, including curries and desserts.
