Mostafa Jabbar Comment'Export of Bangladeshi computer this month'

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Wednesday said computer made by Bangladesh will be exported to Nepal and Nigeria within this month.


The minister said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a five-day "Digital ICT Fair-2018" as the chief guest at the Computer City Centre in the capital.

He also said five worldwide renowned brands of information and communication technology sector will set up plants in the country. He didn't name of the brands but hoped that they would start production this year.

Referring to the initiative of providing cheaper internet to all, Jabbar said each Union Parishad (UP) of the country will be get broadband internet connectivity within this year. "We want to continue our effort to provide internet at the lowest price in the world."

He also expressed optimism to ensure WiFi in universities, markets and other public places.

Terming internet as the power of new generation, the minister said they are also working on internet safety alongside expanding connectivity. "But, we don't have our own technology to handle facebook, but we will be able to attain it within middle of this year."

University of Asia Pacific Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, FBCCI President Safiul Islam Mahiuddin, Chief Adviser of Greater Elephant Road Shop owners' Mostafa Mahsin Mantu, Computer Samity President Ali Ashraf and Shop Owners' Association Chairman Helal Uddin, among others, spoke on the occasion with Convener of the Digital ICT Fair and Computer City Centre President Toufic Ehsan in the chair.
