26 Bangladeshis found infected with coronavirus in Singapore in a day

A number of 26 Bangladeshi expatriates in Singapore have been diagnosed with Covid-19 on March 4 alone pushing the total number of infected to 74, according to the website of Singapore Ministry of Health and Bangladesh High Commission.

Confirming the matter to media, Md Mostafizur Rahman, Bangladesh High Commissioner in Singapore, said, "The number of infected people in Singapore shot up from the end of last month, so are among the Bangladeshi people living here. But none of them are in critical condition."

"Singapore government has taken all the initiatives to ensure proper healthcare service for them and Bangladesh High Commission is active in supporting them," he added.

However, a few are receiving treatment from hospital, while most of them are living in quarantine.

According to the information of different high commissions, so far, more than 450 people have been infected with novel coronavirus in seven countries.

However, the death toll from coronavirus is 99 Bangladeshis living in 11 countries, as USA is leading with 65 so far.
