European Humanitarian Forum (EHF) 2025 ends with hope

On 19 th & 20 th May participated in European Humanitarian Forum (EHF) 2025 in Brussels. The conference is 4th in type.

Around 1000 has participated in that event. it is my honor to participate in that event where I had a chance for briefly interacted with Tom Fletcher, Dr Jemilah & DG ECHO.

In the session on Humanitarin Diplomacy (HD) I raised that HD only with access issue. They hardly target the root cause, eg, international agencies high officials only preess Bangladesh for more facilities for Rohingya refugess, but they don't engage with Mayanmar govt on recognizing Rohingya citizenship and accountability on genocide happened to them. They are not serious on ICJ case. Now it is the only issue of Bangladesh. Its a kind of lingering the refugee crises thus to get aid money.

On behalf of Charter 4 Change endorser group, I have been able to speak in donor roundtable, when donor (FCDO) asked about building trust. I said it is depend upon if UN, INGO and donors. If they treat us as equal partners and consder us as decission making not as mere implementation partners.

We / the C4C group was so organised and we have had series preparatory meeting. Thanks to Howard / CAFOD, Stephane / LHDF, Nayomi / Ugnada, Nadine / NEAR. Meet with lot of friends, Tanya CHSA, Jeremy & Nissane ICVA, Michel Chrristian Aid, Elizabeth Oxfam, Metthew Carter Udpal, Bala Krihsnan PLAN, Mihir AIDMI, Ahmad Kenya, Ahmad & Naomi of A4EP, Johannes ex UNHCR country rep. and Sudhanu HAI & A4EP.

Bangladeshi leaders should have think of participating in such events, as it will give scope to have wider networking, updation of knowledge and all above to tell our country situation and demands.
