The hospital in my area itself is like a patient: Rumin Farhana

Member of Parliament for Brahmanbaria-2, Rumin Farhana, raised concerns in the National Assembly on Thursday, April 16, 2026, regarding the deplorable state of health services in Sarail.

Describing the Sarail Upazila Health Complex as "a patient itself," she noted that the 50-bed facility is severely inadequate for a population of nearly 350,000.

She highlighted that 64 positions remain vacant and complained about the acute shortage of doctors, medicine, and modern equipment.

Furthermore, she revealed that a 10-crore BDT construction project for a new building has been stalled since the contractor fled following the events of August 5, forcing the hospital to operate out of a dilapidated old structure.
