Footballer Sufil ties the knot with cricketer Orthi


Bangladesh National Football Team and Bashundhara Kings forward Mahbubur Rahman Sufil has tied the knot with Mohammedan Women’s Cricket Team wicket keeper Jinnat Asiya Orthi on Monday.

The first phase of the marriage ceremony was held at a local restaurant of the bride’s hometown.

Posting a photo with his newly married wife, Sufil worte in his official Facebook page: “Happy is the MAN who finds a True FRIEND, & far Happier is he who finds that True FRIEND in His WIFE. Keep us in Your Prayers”

The 21-year-old Bangladeshi forward started his career in the professional football league with Arambagh Krira Sangha in 2017.

Under his strong leadership, the traditional club Arambagh lifted its first-ever local title beating defending champions Chittagong Abahani Ltd in the final of the Independence Cup 2017-18 in Dhaka. Later, he joined Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Champions Bashundhara Kings in 2018.

Sufil made his debut in the national team in 2018 with a friendly match against Laos.

He also played in different age-level competitions including SAFF U-18 Championship 2017, AFC U-19 Championship qualification 2018 and South Asian Games 2019.

On the other hand, late cricket coach Moslem Uddin introduced Orthi with the world of cricket nearly a decade ago. Later, she became a student of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP). Orthi is now playing for Mohammedan women’s cricket team.
