Daraz becomes Tigers’ new sponsor

Daraz, an online marketplace and logistics company that operates in South Asia and Southeast Asia, is all set to become the new sponsor of Bangladesh national cricket team for the next two years.

Daraz will replace Evaly, another e-commerce company of the country, which was the sponsor of the national team during their recent-concluded tour of New Zealand.

Bangladesh Cricket Board floated tender for the sponsorship deal on March 17 and got a good response from many interested parties.

The time frame for the national team’s sponsorship deal will be from April 6, 2021 to November 30, 2023 that includes ICC and ACC events while the team’s kit partner rights, which will be in the same time frame but that excludes ICC and ACC events.

Along with Bangladesh national men’s cricket team, Daraz will be the sponsor of Bangladesh A team, Bangladesh U-19 and Bangladesh national women’s cricket team.

HungryNaki, an online food delivery provider and an affiliated company of Daraz, will be the kit partner for BCB.

Daraz will officially begin the journey with BCB in Bangladesh’s upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting on April 21 in Kandy.

BCB was finding it hard to get a sponsor for a long-term deal due to the corona pandemic but managed to overcome the hurdle and ink the deal with Daraz.

BCB had a previous long-term contract with Unilever which expired in January 2021 and since then the team has been running with interim sponsors.
