BD reports 41 more deaths, 1,892 new cases


Bangladesh confirmed 41 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 4,634, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the last 24 hours, 1,892 people tested positive for Covid-19 and the number of novel coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 3,32,970.

Of the dead patients, 31 were men and 10 were women. Moreover, 22 of them hailed from Dhaka, six from Chattogram, five from Rajshahi, three from Khulna, two each from Rangpur and Mymensingh, and one from Sylhet division.

All 41 of the latest victims have died in different hospitals.

A total of 2,746 patients were declared free of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours and the total number of recoveries reached 233,550. 

Some 15,642 samples were collected in the last 24 hours and 15,559 were tested in 94 labs across the country. So far 1,690,011 samples have been tested.

The virus has killed 907,982 people globally and infected 28,021,495 so far.
