US congratulates Bangladesh on upcoming graduation

The USA has greeted Bangladesh marking its upcoming graduation from the United Nation’s list of Least Developed Countries.

Although Bangladesh obtained United Nation approval for graduation to developing status in November last year, formal graduation is set to take place in 2026.

The government celebrated the UN approval at a ceremony chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday.

Samantha Power, Administrator of United States USAID, twitted a video message congratulating Bangladesh and expressing its pride for being a partner in the journey to the graduation.

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl R Miller retwitted the message on official twitter page.

“Congratulations to Bangladesh  for its upcoming graduation from the United Nation's list of least developed countries! Celebrating this remarkable achievement, I am delighted to bring you a video message from the Administrator of @USAID, @PowerUSAID”, Miller said.

Congratulations to Bangladesh
