Election schedule after Oct 30: EC
The Election Commission (EC) will announce the schedule of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad election at any moment after October30, Election Commission (EC) secretary Helaluddin Ahmed said today.
“The polls day countdown will start from October 30…election schedule will be announced at any time after then,” he told reporters at Election Commission office, Agargaon, here.
The EC spokesman hoped that all political parties would take part in the next general polls.
He said the EC has already completed 80 percent of the polls preparations. “The CDs (compact disc) containing the delimitation of 300 electoral constituencies and the list of 10.41 crore voters have already been prepared.”
The EC secretary said the CDs will also be sent to all district and upazila headquarters by September 25 from where this will be printed.
Referring to the list of draft voting centers published on August 5, Helal said the final voting centers at grassroots level were published on September 6. “Later, the final list of voting centers will be published through a gazette notification 25 days before the election,” he said.
