Four categories to recognise export excellence
The 2026 awards will cover four broad categories, reflecting both Bangladesh’s traditional export strengths and its emerging sectors.

The Export Excellence – Backward Linkage (Apparel) category will recognise companies supplying essential inputs and support to Bangladesh’s apparel value chain. Businesses with annual export turnover of US$50 million or more are eligible to apply.
The Export Excellence – Non-Traditional/Emerging (Manufacturing) category targets high-potential manufacturers operating in sectors including agro-processing, light engineering and electronics. The minimum annual export turnover requirement is US$10 million.
Meanwhile, the Export Excellence – Non-Traditional/Emerging (Services) category is designed for exporters of services, including businesses involved in information and communication technology (ICT), digital platforms and creative industries. Eligible companies must have annual export turnover of at least US$5 million.
Performance, diversification and responsible business
According to the organisers, nominations will be assessed against a defined set of judging criteria rather than export volume alone.
The assessment will consider export performance, business diversity, major achievements, contribution to the economy, responsible business practices and regulatory compliance.
This framework places emphasis not only on the scale of a company’s international business, but also on its broader contribution to the economy and the way it conducts its business.
The awards are intended to highlight businesses that have demonstrated the ability to sustain export growth, diversify their activities and create economic value while maintaining responsible business standards.
Nominations open until September 20
Eligible businesses are being encouraged to submit their nominations ahead of the deadline on September 20, 2026.
The awards initiative is expected to provide a platform for recognising companies that are expanding Bangladesh’s footprint in international markets while demonstrating resilience and innovation amid changing global trade conditions.
