Shahabuddin Hospital’s assistant director in RAB custody

The hospital’s Chairman Mohammed Shahabuddin could not be reached for comment immediately

Dr Mohammad Abul Hasnat, an assistant director of Shahabuddin Medical College Hospital, has been taken to custody of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for interrogation.

The law enforcers also found evidence of fake COVID-19 test reports, which were made without testing samples, in the private facility during the operation on Sunday

The members of elite force are conducting a drive at Shahabuddin Medical College Hospital in Gulshan of the capital till filing of this report.

The raid, led by Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam, began around 3 pm and was underway in the evening, said RAB spokesman Ashik Billah.  

“We are checking the irregularities in the hospital,” Ashik said.

The hospital authorities were reportedly conducting rapid tests on samples to diagnose coronavirus without taking permission from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The hospital’s Chairman Mohammed Shahabuddin could not be reached for comment immediately.
