Regent Hospital chairman Shahed arrested again
Shahed was detained from the ECB Chattar area of the capital on Sunday
Mohammad Shahed, the controversial chairman of Regent Hospital, has been arrested again in connection with a case filed with Pallabi Police Station.
Police said Shahed was detained from the ECB Chattar area of the capital on Sunday.
Confirming the development, Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Basir said Shahed was arrested on the basis of a court-issued warrant in a criminal case.
According to the OC, personnel from Cantonment Police Station detained Shahed following a request from Pallabi Police.
"We are on our way to bring him into our custody. We will be able to provide further details once he is handed over to us," Hasan Basir said.
Mohammad Shahed, chairman of Regent Hospital, previously drew nationwide attention over multiple criminal allegations, including fraud and forgery, and was at the centre of the widely publicised Regent Hospital scandal during the Covid-19 pandemic.
