Police arrest man involved in plasma fraud

Farid mainly collected plasma from recovered Covid-19 patients. Later, he would sell it by various means for Tk15,000 to Tk20,000

Police have arrested a man for scamming recovered Covid-19 patients into donating plasma which he sold to others.

The arrestee is identified as Ahsanul Farid, 47.

A team of Shahbagh Police Station arrested Farid from Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Hospital in the capital on Saturday (August 8).

Shahbagh Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Abul Hasan confirmed the matter.

OC Abul Hasan said Farid mainly collected plasma from recovered Covid-19 patients. Later, he would sell it by various means for Tk15,000 to Tk20,000.”

“Today, a case has been filed against Farid,” he added.
