817 pending primary teacher appointments to be completed by 1 October

Nearly 10.69 lakh candidates had taken the recruitment examination during the interim government’s tenure

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said 817 candidates who were deprived of appointments to government primary schools will receive appointment letters by 1 October.

He made the remarks on Monday at a meeting of the National Steering Committee held at the conference room of the Education Ministry at the Secretariat. The meeting was organised to mark World Teachers’ Day.

The minister said, “There are currently 817 candidates who have not received appointments to primary schools. They will be appointed by 1 October. We will work on those who do not receive appointments.”

He said nearly 10.69 lakh candidates had taken the recruitment examination during the interim government’s tenure.

“We started working to ensure that the recruitment process was properly maintained. We received final applications for 854 candidates from 33 districts,” he said.

The minister said appointment letters are issued after the District Primary Education Office (DPEO) completes the necessary procedures.

“During the process, it was found that their verification was pending and many of them had changed their addresses. They are submitting the required information gradually,” he said.

He added that verification was being carried out in phases and updated addresses were being received.

“We are monitoring the cases that have not yet been completed and reviewing them. This process will continue until 1 October,” Milon said.
