Former shipping minister and Awami League presidium member Shahjahan Khan has filed defamation charges against two persons, including Bangla daily Inqilab editor and publisher AMM Bahauddin.

Shahjahan Khan, the MP of Madaripur-2 constituency, filed the case against them with the court of Metropolitan Magistrates Abu Sayed on Sunday over a report published in the paper.

In the case, he prayed the court to issue arrest warrants against the accused.

The court recorded the statement and kept for order.

The other accused of the case is Abdul Quader, director of Quaderia Publications and Products Limited.
