With a view to eradicating some irregularities, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has leased Gabtali and Mohakhali inter-district bus terminals for one year at a cost of Tk 12.1 crore through an open tender.

The authorities concerned handed over the cheque to Mayor Atiqul Islam at the DNCC’s Nagar Bhaban in Gulshan this afternoon, said a press release.

Atiqul Islam said, “Earlier revenue could be collected from these bus terminals, when I came and saw that there was a fault here since long and many unequal deals were made to benefit some selfish quarters.”

The new leaseholders have been given conditions to maintain a beautiful environment in the bus terminals. Otherwise, the lease will be canceled, he added.
