Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday reported 35 deaths from the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the 24 hours to 8:00am today, according to the DGHS official.
With the latest victims, the death toll due to the deadly virus infection reached at 781, Additional Director General of the DGHS Dr Nasima Sultana said.
On the 89th day after Bangladesh registered the first case of such infection on March 08, a total of 2423 people were tested positive afresh by the COVID-19, during the same period, taking the number of such cases in the country to 57,563, Dr Nasima said.
Among the victims, 29 were male and 6 female, she added.
A total of 12,693 samples have been tested in 50 labs across the country during the period, she said.
Besides, 571 patients made recovery in the past 24 hours, raising the tally of recovered patients to 12,161.
On Wednesday, 37 more people died and 2,695 people tested positive for the highly infectious disease.
