Opposition leader in the parliament Rowshan Ershad on Wednesday said although the country may have different political ideologies, but as the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman must have to be kept above all political controversies.
“We believe in different political cultures in the country …but we unanimously have to uphold Bangabandhu keeping him above all the political controversies,” the opposition leader said while addressing the concluding session of the parliament here.
Recalling the contributions of the great leader, she said Bangabandhu in his whole life had struggled for building a developed country free from exploitation and discrimination.
“Political diversity is a beauty of democracy, but the truth must have to abide by all that Bangabandhu is the best Bangalee in thousand years,” said Rowshan, also a lawmaker of Mymensingh-4.
“We must have to go ahead with the ideology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as he nurtured the spirit of modern democracy, she said, adding “our motherland must have to forge in light with his non-communal spirit.”
On the rising trend of the Covid-19 pandemic, the opposition leader said corona pandemic is rising day by day and the health experts have expressed concern about the situation which is likely to be worsened if the people would not aware of necessary health guidelines.
Most of the people are not aware of wearing masks and people are used to travel on the public transport without following necessary health guidelines, she said.
Even the people are also reluctant to comply with the 18-point instructions issued by the government, Rowshan told the parliament.
The opposition leader urged the government to enhance the corona testing facilities as the government must have to enforce all out efforts to curb the pandemic outbreak.
