The government of Malaysia has lifted entry restrictions for Bangladeshi citizens.
The decision will come into immediate effect, said a notice issued by the High Commission of Malaysia in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
However, entry to the country may only be allowed on a case-by-case basis upon obtaining a prior entry approval from Malaysia’s immigration department, said the notice.
To obtain prior entry approval, travellers must be fully vaccinated with WHO-approved vaccine and have a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test result.
Travellers must also undergo mandatory quarantine in accordance with the Malaysian health ministry.
Other than travellers with valid Malaysian visa, these guidelines to travel are also applicable to Malaysian permanent residents, long term pass holders, business travellers, and investors.
Earlier on May 5, Malaysia imposed a travel ban on citizens of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Nepal.
