Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed has said all kinds of security measures have been taken to make successful the rally of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the inaugural ceremony of Padma Bridge.
He made the remarks after visiting rally venue at Banglabazar Ghat area of Shibchar under Madaripur this noon.
Dr Benazir Ahmed said measures have also been taken so that all can return home safely after attending the rally. SSF, DGFI, NSI, district police, highway police, naval police and officials of different departments have been deployed for security works.
In reply to a question whether there is any threat or not regarding the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, the IGP said update information is being collected for every moment. Centring the inauguration of Padma Bridge, strict security measures have been taken for the whole country, not only for the rally venue. Members of all forces are ready to tackle all kinds of situation.
The police chief said the police force will celebrate the inauguration ceremony of Padma Bridge. As a result, police members of the whole country will enjoy the joyous moment.
