At least five people were killed and another was injured in a landslide in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban on Monday.

The deceased are Sona Miah, 30, Abu Ahamd, 32, Nurul Hakim, 25, Jasim Uddin, 24, and Nur Ahamed, 35.

Police said that incidents occurred when workers were cutting hill in Ghumdhum area of the upazila at noon.

Confirming the matter, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) SM Sarwar Kamal said the rescue drive is underway in the area.
