Bangladeshi band Shironamhin has filed a copyright complaint against music production company G-Series.

The band alleges that G-Series has been illegally profiting from their music on YouTube and other digital platforms.

Shironamhin claims ownership of at least 30 songs from their first three albums, including hits like "Jahaji", "Ichchhe Ghuri" and "Bondho Janala."

The Bangladesh Copyright Board ruled in their favour in 2018, granting them the copyrights.

However, the band accuses G-Series of ignoring this ruling and continuing to monetize the songs online without authorisation.

G-Series originally released the albums in 2004, 2006, and 2009, and subsequently registered the copyrights in their name. Shironamhin challenged this in 2017, leading to the Copyright Board's decision.

While G-Series retains the right to distribute the albums in physical formats, online distribution requires an agreement with Shironamhin. The band argues that G-Series' continued digital promotion of the songs constitutes copyright infringement.

G-Series has yet to respond publicly to the allegations but confirmed receiving a request for an explanation from the Copyright Office. The company reportedly intends to address the issue with legal counsel.
