Negative comments based on beard and cap are a practice of the fascist era: MP Hanjala

Member of Parliament Saiduddin Ahmad Hanjala, representing the Madaripur-1 constituency for Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, has denounced the use of derogatory labels based on religious appearance as a "fascist-era practice."

During a parliamentary session on Thursday, Hanjala expressed his deep grievance over being publicly branded a "militant MP" within the parliament premises, an incident he claims was circulated on social media to humiliate him socially and violate his parliamentary privileges.

He argued that such rhetoric was weaponized over the last 17 years to stigmatize religious individuals and urged the Speaker to ensure that the dignity of all members, regardless of their political affiliation or attire, is protected from future harassment.
