Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will pay a visit to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) today to see Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, a professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, who was stabbed by an attacker.

PM Hasina went to visit him in CMH around 12:30pm on Monday. She inquired the hospital authorities about his health and instructed them to take utmost care of him.

She also spoke to Zafar Iqbal;s wife, Professor Yasmin Huq and their daughter Yeshim Iqbal at the time.

The premier’s Press Secretary Ehsanul Karim said the PM spent nearly one hour at the hospital and consulted the members of board of doctors taking care of Dr. Zafar Iqbal as well

Popular writer and scientist Professor Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal was stabbed at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus in Sylhet last Saturday.

Zafar Iqbal was taken to CMH after receiving treatment in Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital as prime minister's direction.
