The government on Saturday decided to keep all factories across Bangladesh open even as the health authorities reported new cases and confirmed the second death from coronavirus.
The decision was taken at a tripartite meeting of the government, factory owners and workers in the capital.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian presided over the meeting.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 24 coronavirus cases. Experts say the labour-intensive readymade garment factories are at high risk of coronavirus given that people work at close proximity there.
