Bangla should be the primary language of communication


Today is the great 21st of February, the Language Martyrs Day and the International Mother Language Day.

COAST Foundation observed the day in 10 districts of its area of operation with a call, "Let Bangla be the primary language of communication for development and humanitarian work".

Communication in local languages is one of the main demands of the localisation campaign in development and humanitarian work across the world.

Mr. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Executive Director of COAST Foundation, and local employees laid a wreath of flowers at Cox's Bazar Central Shaheed Minar.

The central office of the foundation placed a wreath at the Dhaka Central Shaheed Minar in the presence of the directors.

In addition to Dhaka and Cox's Bazar, COAST Foundation also offered flower bouquets at Shaheed Minars locally in Ukhia and Teknaf, Bhola, Chittagong, Noakhali, Feni, Lakshipur, Barisal, Patuakhali districts of Cox's Bazar.

Radio Meghna in Bhola and Radio Saikat in Cox’s Bazar also joined with COAST Foundation to observe the day and they offered separate flower bouquets to the mounds of the martyrs.

Workers performed patriotic songs while offering flowers at Shaheed Minars in their respective districts and regions.

Today, February 1st, in the early morning hours, they showed respect and honour to the language martyrs by placing wreaths at the Shaheed Minars of their respective regions.

While laying wreaths in Cox's Bazar, the Executive Director of COAST Foundation, Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, said that the localisation campaign has a link with International Mother Language Day, which is the language. Communicating in the local language is the most important thing in development and emergency humanitarian work at the local level for better results.

He also said that we want all the world's children to get their first lesson in their mother tongue. It is their human right.
