Interim committee formed for Milk Vita

The Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) has issued a directive requiring the formation of a six-member interim management committee for the Bangladesh Milk Producers' Cooperative Union Ltd, widely known as Milk Vita.

The decision aims to oversee the cooperative's management and conduct inter-organisational elections as per the Cooperative Societies Act of 2001, amended in 2002 and 2013, said a press release.

Commander Jahurul Alam has been named chairperson of the committee.

The other members include a deputy secretary or senior assistant secretary (Institutions-2) from the Rural Development and Cooperative Division, a deputy secretary from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock and the joint registrar of the Department of Cooperatives.

Additionally, ZY Khan Majlish and Md Mostafizur Rahman will serve as members.
