Tuku deserves BNP's nomination in Tangail-5

Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, who is known in every neighborhood and neighborhood of Bengal, from young men and women to old men, students, teachers, farmers, daily wage workers, rickshaw pullers and people from all walks of life, is Sultan Salahuddin Tuku. He is the pride and friend in difficult times of the BNP and the leaders and activists of all Bangladesh.

Tuku is not only a national leader, he is the leader of BNP in difficult times. A fighter on the streets of BNP. If Tuku becomes an MP, Tangail will be a model city of development. Its entire structure is built on the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. Tuku's nomination has been postponed for some unknown reason.

The people of Tangail believe that BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman will make the fragile politics of the district self-reliant by nominating Sultan Salahuddin Tuku from Tangail-5 constituency. The neglected people of Tangail sincerely believe that the Zia family will definitely appreciate the sacrifice of the Tuku family.

Tuku has been bloodied on campus and on the streets during the party's difficult times. He has served time in jail, and has been a victim of oppression. Where is the recognition of that? Many of those younger brothers and friends who used to ride in Tuku's car to the political arena have now received BNP nominations. Judging by the criteria of eligibility, Sultan Salauddin Tuku definitely expects BNP nomination from Tangail-5 (Sadar).

BNP Central Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku was the victim of 350 false harassment cases during the regime of the fallen government. He was jailed 12 times and spent an average of 5 years in jail. There were several conspiracies to kill Tuku. Even though the sky and air became heavy with the cries of Tuku's family, Hasina's administration machine did not stop running a stream of torture on Tuku. Anyone's heart would tremble when they heard the details of the brutal torture of Tuku's family for 15 and a half years. Yet this family member did not give up on the party. Despite hundreds of tortures, he has held on to the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. Begum Khaleda Zia has given the order. He has kept the party's leaders and activists strong by depriving himself little by little and respecting BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. This revolutionary leader of BNP was beaten with police batons during the protest on the streets. Tuku himself used to say in his speech that he would leave his house in the morning to appear in various district towns for cases and return home at night. This was Tuku's daily routine during the Awami League's misrule. Why will his nomination be postponed? Tarique Rahman will energize his supporters by announcing Tuku's nomination, this is the demand of the neglected community of Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency.

On November 4 (Monday), Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the names of the party's candidates for 237 seats through a press conference at the political office of the BNP Chairperson. 63 seats were announced to be suspended. After a long break, BNP has returned to the "driving seat" of politics. Since January 11, 2007, BNP has been in a hostile situation. Only if BNP can maintain internal unity, then BNP's victory is certain. And it is time to evaluate those who have been tested in difficult times above all else.

BNP's Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku is one of the leaders and activists who have shed blood on the streets, been imprisoned and tortured in the political arena. He is a BNP candidate from Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman himself is aware of his popularity and the sacrifices he has made for the party. BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia treats Tuku like her own child. Sultan Salahuddin Tuku's contribution to the party is not limited to the party alone. Tuku's acceptance is immense for Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman as well.

People from all walks of life in Tangail-5 constituency eagerly sat in front of the TV on the afternoon of November 4 to listen to the nomination announcement of Tuku alone. The only reason for this is that Sultan Salauddin Tuku took charge of Tangail's fragile politics after August 5 last year. He has been able to unite those who are with the symbol of the sheaf of rice for the party. This has been possible on the basis of Tuku's talent, hard work and organizational skills.

Tuku, a victim of oppression, torture and imprisonment under AL's misrule

In the 15 and a half years of the Awami League government, he has been in 350 false cases and has been in jail 12 times. 5 years of Tuku's life have been lost due to the fascist government. Tuku's wife Saima Parveen Simmi has been deprived of justice despite going door to door in the administration. She has spent sleepless nights with her children and relatives. Even though the sky and air became heavy with her screams, Hasina's administration machine did not respond to Sammi's cries. There were several attempts to kill Tuku inside and outside the prison. Tuku's elder brother, former MP Advocate Abdus Salam Pintu, was in prison without any charges for almost 17 years. All the other brothers in the family were framed with fabricated cases related to militancy. The fallen government has made various fabricated allegations, lies and torture to remove this family from politics. Sensitive torture has been inflicted on the Tuku family. To uphold the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, Tuku is devoting almost all of his life to the party, abandoning the illusion of his family.

BNP Central Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has been beaten with police batons countless times on the streets to bloodshed while resisting the injustice and injustice of the Hasina government. During the protest on the streets, Hasina's police force broke the glass of a car and dragged Tuku out in a bloody state, blindfolded him and brutally beat him on Mintu Road. The most headlined in the media has been the persecuted leader of BNP, Tuku.

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia often praised Tuku's courage, strength, talent, patience and organizational skills. After evaluating Tuku, Tarique Rahman gave him the responsibility of BNP's publicity secretary in 2024. Tuku became very trusted by Begum Khaleda Zia due to his political and moral behavior. Sultan Salahuddin Tuku was one of the field leaders during BNP's difficult times.

Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, a popular leader among the neglected population of Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency

Tuku's tireless work and efforts have received a huge response from Trinamool leaders and activists. Tuku is ahead of everyone in popularity in Tangail-5 constituency. Tuku's overall efforts have restored a beautiful situation among the people and activists of all walks of life in the fragile politics of Tangail. Some local top leaders are disappointed by Tuku's political constructive activities. All those leaders are involved in harming the party in order to achieve personal interests. The party high command, including the media, is aware of their lies and conspiracies.

BNP's national leader Sultan Salahuddin Tuku is moving forward with talent, strategy and patience, facing everything. He is thwarting one conspiracy after another in the interests of the party and its leaders and activists. On the other hand, the popularity of those who have resorted to false propaganda and slander has collapsed. They are gradually falling out of favor with the party's leaders and activists.

One of the reasons for Sultan Salahuddin Tuku's acceptance by the people of Tangail-5 constituency is that he has been able to do various developmental works without becoming an MP. He has especially taken initiatives for the development of the vast char area of Sadar Upazila. Already, through Tuku's sincere efforts and lobbying, development works worth several crores of taka are on the way to start. His humble behavior has received appreciation as well as acceptance from the people of Tangail Sadar.

AL's misrule and torture in Tangail for the past 15 and a half years

The fascist Awami League's torture rampage that is going on across the country, regardless of party affiliation, is no exception in Tangail. Cases, killings, disappearances and seizure of land and business establishments against people with dissenting views, including BNP-Jamaat, were almost daily occurrences. The horrific picture of the Awami League government's torture and oppression cannot be ended by saying that it is. The torture is going on in the same way from the district town to the grassroots level.

In 15 and a half years, at least nine thousand leaders and activists were accused in 281 cases in Tangail against BNP and Jamaat leaders and activists. A special plan was taken to eliminate BNP from Tangail. As part of this, Awami terrorists brutally hacked and shot half a dozen leaders and activists to death. It is not known how many leaders and activists were left disabled. BNP leaders and activists' businesses were taken over. Many escaped certain death and left the country. Awami leaders and activists received firearm licenses en masse in Tangail. Nine students and people of Tangail were killed in the July uprising by the fascist Hasina's police. Two hundred and seventy people were injured in the student and public movement in Tangail. Most of them are students of various schools and colleges. Sultan Salauddin Tuku has managed everything and put BNP in a strong position. Tuku has become a direct enemy to all the top BNP leaders who are providing shelter to Awami cronies. Trinamool leaders and activists have claimed that there is no alternative to Tuku in BNP politics in Tangail.

Torture and oppression against Tuku family

An honest, decent and simple leader of Tangail, Tuku's elder brother, Advocate Abdus Salam Pintu, is the founding general secretary of the district BNP. He was framed in the August 21 grenade attack case. It was part of the Hasina government's plan to eliminate BNP from Tangail. Abdus Salam Pintu's two brothers, Maulana Tajuddin and Ratul Babu, were also accused in the August 21 grenade murder case. Hasina's court sentenced Salam Pintu and Maulana Tajuddin to death and Ratul Babu to life imprisonment. Abdus Salam Pintu was imprisoned for 17 years in this case. His two brothers were absconding for the last 17 years. Another brother of Salam Pintu and former district BNP president, agriculturist Shamsul Alam Tofa, was accused in multiple cases and was forced to leave the country. He is currently living in Canada. Abdus Salam Pintu's other brother, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, the BNP's publicity secretary and former president of the central Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal, was subjected to inhuman torture. Tuku was accused in 350 cases during Hasina's 15 and a half years. He was arrested 12 times and served an average of 5 years in prison. Tuku was subjected to inhuman torture in the name of remand.

Sultan Salauddin Tuku said, the fascist Awami League targeted our family. This goal was to destroy BNP. But we did not give in to it. We carried the nationalist flag by embracing certain death. Now I am working to improve the fate of the people of Tangail Sadar Upazila. If BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman nominates me and gives me the opportunity to become an MP, and with the mercy of Allah, I will try to change Tangail, Insha Allah.

Tuku's popularity brings development to Sadar

Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, the potential candidate of BNP in Tangail-5 constituency, has been working day and night to present himself to the common people. As a result, Tuku is already a popular name among the people of the constituency. Tuku's personal initiative and lobbying have started to have a positive impact on the development of roads, educational institutions and mosques and temples, especially in the vast char area.

A proposal has been sent from LGED to construct a bridge of about one kilometer over the Dhaleshwari River through Bahuli and Makorkol in Mahmud Nagar Union. This has been possible due to Tuku's efforts. During the rainy season, the river is full of water and during the dry season, there is 1/2 foot of water at the bottom of the river. Almost all parts are covered with sand. Many people cross the river every day in motorized boats to come and go to Tangail Sadar. During the dry season, 2,500 to 3,000 people cross the river in horse-drawn carriages, auto-rickshaws and on foot. Major General Hasan Mahmud, when the BNP was in power, had constructed a paved road from Tangail Sadar to the banks of the Dhaleshwari River. But he could not construct the bridge. Therefore, the people of the western bank of Tangail and Chauhali Upazila demand the construction of an RCC bridge over the Dhaleshwari River. A clearance certificate for this bridge of about 700 meters has already been sent to LGED from BIWTA. And behind this is the tireless efforts of Sultan Salahuddin Tuku.

People of the Char area said that after Major General Mahmudul Hasan, the people of Tangail are placing their trust in BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku. He has already stood by the people of the Char area in various ways. On his recommendation, 8 road works have been approved, which we people of the Char area have learned that will be completed before the elections. In addition, he has extended his hand of cooperation in many social activities including mosques and madrasas. We people of the Char area want to see Sultan Salahuddin Tuku as an MP. The people of Tangail have expressed their hope that if he becomes an MP, he will also become a minister.

3 year passed but the district BNP failed to form a committee

The full committee of Tangail District BNP has not been formed yet. There has been no district office for 18 years. The district BNP president and general secretary are running the party's programs. As a result, the Tangail District BNP is running its activities under two leaders. The term of the district committee has expired long ago. This situation has created extreme frustration and anger among the leaders and activists. They have demanded that the committee be dissolved as soon as possible and a new committee be formed through a conference.

Trinamool leaders and activists complain that the district BNP has been running without an office for the past 18 years. After August 5, the leaders and activists hoped that the district president and general secretary would re-establish the district BNP office. But that did not materialize. Furthermore, these two top leaders traded positions for lakhs of taka in the name of giving committees. After August 5, they embezzled crores of taka by sheltering Awami League associates.

Party sources said that the biennial conference of Tangail District BNP was held on November 1, 2022. Hasanuzzammil Shaheen was elected president and Advocate Farhad Iqbal general secretary by direct vote of the councilors. A central leader of BNP made two leaders of his choice as president and general secretary with the help of unilaterally created councilors. As a result, BNP is now on the verge of destruction. The question has arisen that those who could not form a BNP district committee even in three years are desperate to get nomination for the post of MP. The matter is shameful and ridiculous.

There are allegations that the election campaign is being conducted by excluding the leaders and activists of Tangail District BNP and bringing in Awami League leaders and activists. The proof of this is that the President of No. 12 Mahmud Nagar Union BNP, Md. Abdur Rashid, filed a corruption case against the current Awami Chairman Aslam. But the President and General Secretary of Tangail District BNP applied pressure to withdraw the case in exchange for a large sum of money. The two top leaders of BNP held various BNP meetings and rallies with Awami Chairman Aslam. The aggrieved parties have demanded that the BNP party take action against Shaheen-Farhad by investigating the allegations of position trading, extortion, tender trading and earning illegal money by sheltering Awami associates against BNP General Secretary Ed. Farhad Iqbal.

There are allegations of Awami League supporters sheltering those who want to contest elections in Tangail-5 constituency against the party's decision. They have taken all kinds of opportunities, starting from litigation and trade. Tuku has tried to resist them. Due to which Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has become a victim of political revenge.

The BNP high command will investigate these issues properly and take strict action against the opportunists, this is the demand of the Tangail district BNP leaders and activists and the common people. In addition, the people of all walks of life hope that the acting chairman of BNP, Tarique Rahman, will properly evaluate Tuku's political career, his sacrifice for the party and organizational skills and nominate him for the party in the Tangail-5 constituency.
