BNP has started walking on the path of fascism: Jamaat Amir
The Leader of the Opposition and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, leveled explosive allegations against the BNP on Saturday, April 25, 2026, accusing the party of adopting a "neo-fascist" character since coming to power.
Speaking at a mass gathering at Suhrawardy Udyan dedicated to the families of July martyrs, Dr. Rahman asserted that the BNP has betrayed the spirit of the mass uprising and manipulated the recent referendum results.
He criticized the administration for suppressing dissent and leaning toward confrontational politics instead of fostering a culture of dialogue and mutual respect.
Warning that the public’s expectation for a just and accountable government remains unfulfilled, he urged the BNP to abandon its "autocratic path" and prioritize the fundamental rights of the people over partisan interests.
