Trump canceled the Pakistan visit

President Donald Trump has canceled plans to send a U.S. delegation to Pakistan for talks on the Iran issue, stating that an 18-hour flight for such negotiations is unnecessary.

In a statement on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Trump asserted that the United States holds all the leverage and that Iran should initiate direct contact if they wish to discuss a resolution.

Consequently, special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will no longer travel to Islamabad. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has already concluded his visit to the Pakistani capital, where he met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir to discuss regional stability and ceasefire efforts.
