Tarique completes formalities to become voter
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has completed the National Identity Card (NID) registration process.
He visited the Election Training Institute in Agargaon, Dhaka, at 1:00pm on Saturday to complete the formalities.
At the Election Commission, Tarique Rahman registered his name on the voter list, providing all biometric information, including Iris scans and fingerprints.
ASM Humayun Kabir, DG of the NID Wing, confirmed that Tarique Rahman would receive his NID within a maximum of one day.
To participate in parliamentary elections, it is mandatory to be a registered voter in any constituency. Tarique Rahman applied online to become a voter of Ward 19 in Dhaka-17 constituency (Gulshan area).
Meanwhile, Tarique Rahman’s team has already collected the nomination papers for Bogura-6 constituency. The necessary documents will be submitted when filing the nomination.
For the upcoming 12 February election, the deadline to collect and submit nomination papers is 29 December.
