BGMEA launches podcast series to address industry challenges
The BGMEA has launched, for the first time, a podcast Series featuring discussions on key issues impacting the ready-made garment (RMG) industry and the broader economy of Bangladesh.
This initiative reflects the current Board’s commitment to enhancing the industry’s image and charting a progressive path for its future development, said a press release.
The BGMEA Podcast Series brings together distinguished guests from the industry and beyond, including bankers, business leaders, economists, and policymakers, who share their insights, experiences and recommendations on the critical topics.
The podcast covers timely and relevant issues such as LDC graduation and its potential impacts, exchange rate dynamics and their implications for industrial growth and competitiveness.
Through informed discussions, the series seeks to provide valuable perspectives for policymakers, contributing to more effective and forward-looking decisions in trade, business and economic governance.
A key objective of the podcast series is to address misconceptions and myths surrounding the RMG industry, presenting its realities in a balanced, informative, and constructive manner. Despite its significant contribution to Bangladesh’s socio-economic development, the sector often faces misperceptions.
Through this initiative, BGMEA seeks to highlight both the challenges and immense potential of the industry, offering authentic narratives from insiders and experts.
BGMEA Vice President (finance) Mijanur Rahman, Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, and Chair of the Standing Committee on Branding BGMEA Khan Monirul Alam Shuvo, who spearheaded the initiative, emphasized the importance of such a platform, noting that the podcast serves as an effective tool for discussing pressing industry issues and generating actionable insights.
They further highlighted that the initiative offers a meaningful opportunity to present the industry in its true light, thereby strengthening its global image and the “Made in Bangladesh” brand worldwide.
The BGMEA Podcast Series serves as a forward-looking communication and knowledge-sharing platform and also as a voice of the industry by sharing in-depth analysis from industry experts and stakeholders.
It facilitates informed dialogue, constructive policy engagement, and the sustained development of Bangladesh’s RMG sector.
Two episodes of the series have already been aired, with several more in the pipeline, addressing a wide range of important topics.
The episodes are being broadcast across BGMEA’s official digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, allowing broader engagement with stakeholders and the public.
