Rifat murder case: Death reference reaches at High Court

The death reference of six convicts, including Ayesha Siddika Minni, in the much-talked about Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna has reached the High Court (HC) with a view to examining the trial’s court verdict.

Confirming the matter, Supreme Court spokesman and special officer Barrister Mohammad Saifur Rahman said through a message that the Barguna court officials brought the document of the sensational murder case along with the verdict to the HC on Sunday.

On the death reference of any criminal case, the officials of High Court generally prepares paper book after scrutinizing the case documents, according to the relevant laws and rules.

On September 30, a Barguna court awarded Minni and five others to death sentence in the daylight murder of her husband Rifat Shorif in 2019. Four other suspects in the case were acquitted by the court.
