Rayhan murder: SI Akbar arrested from Sylhet border

Akbar Hossain, the suspended sub-inspector of Sylhet’s Bandarbazar police outpost on allegation of murdering Rayhan in police custody, arrested from Kanaighat border area of Sylhet on Monday.

Kanaighat police station’s second officer SI Shawpon Chandra confirmed the matter on Monday (November 9).

Earlier, Bandarbazar police outpost in-charge SI Akbar Hossain and four other policemen were suspended in connection with the death of Raihan Ahmed, 34, in custody in Sylhet on 11 October.

Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan went into hiding since the day of his suspension on October 12.
