23 fraudsters held over fake job scam in city, 50 rescued

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested twenty three people for conning job aspirants in the name of providing jobs in fake companies from Shah Ali, Pallabi, Kafrul and Tejgaon areas of the capital on Thursday.

On information, a team of RAB-4 carried out separate raids at “Lifeguard Security and Supply Limited” under Shah Ali police station, “Bizbond IT Limited” under Pallabi police station, "Digit-4 Security and Logistics Services Limited" at Shah Ali Plaza under Kafrul Police Station and “Bizbond IT Limited” under Tejgaon police station and arrested them.

The RAB team also found 50 cheated job seekers in the offices.

The gang used to rent offices in different areas in Dhaka and published job circulars in newspapers to attract unemployed persons with the prospect of high salary, RAB-4 sources.

They used to demand money from job seekers as prerequisite to join the company. After getting the money, they used to issue appointment letters, but they would disappear -- closing their office after some days, it added.
