Hefazat’s Dhaka city unit president arrested

The detectives have arrested Hefazat-e-Islam's joint secretary and Dhaka city unit president Junaid Al Habib on Saturday evening.

He was arrested from Baridhara Madrasa in the capital at 5:30pm.

There are several cases, including one filed over the violence at Shapla Chattar in the capital's Motijheel on May 5, 2013, against Junayed Al Habib.

With him, a few leaders of the organization were arrested by the law enforcers in cases filed over the 2013 incident for the last couple of days.

Earlier in the afternoon, police arrested Hefazat’s assistant general secretary and Dhaka city unit’s assistant secretary general Jalal Uddin Ahmed.
