Huji-B founder and death row convict Mufti Abdul Hye arrested


Mufti Abdul Hye, founder of Pakistan-based banned militant outfit Huji-B, has been arrested from Narayanganj.

He is a death row convict in the bombing case of Kotalipara in Gopalganj and the Ramna Batamul bombing.

ANM Imran Khan, assistant director of RAB's law and media wing, said Mufti Abdul Hye was arrested from Fatullah in Narayanganj.

He has been sentenced to life imprisonment in several cases apart from the bombing of Kotalipara and Ramna Batamul, said the RAB official.

Mufti Abdul Hannan is facing capital punishment in Kotalipara bomb implant case and life imprisonment in Ramna Batamul bombing case.

Abdul Hye and other militants planted bomb to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Kotalipara of Gopalganj in 2000.
