Body of US citizen Diana laid on floor for 11 days, killer arrested

The US citizen and third gender Maksudur Rahman Khan alias Megna Diana was killed by his domestic help aiming to cut off sexual relation.

Police arrested the alleged killer, Shoeb Akhter Laden, from Nalitabari in Sherpur on Monday.

Ziaul Ahsan Talukder, deputy commissioner of Wari Crime Division, told this to reporters at a press briefing at DMP media centre in the capital on Wednesday.

Police recovered the decomposed body of Diana from his residence at Golapbagh in Jatrabari on August 27 afternoon.

The police said that the victim did not mix with neighbours, but some young boys used to visit his residence.

Diana had sexual relation with Laden. A few months ago, the ‘killer’ married a girl and tried to cut off the relation with Diana, he said.

On the contrary, Diana could not maintain his marriage.

On the day of incident, August 16, Diana called in Laden to his house and engaged in sex.

During the sex, Diana bit Laden’s secret organ while the accused hit his head with a hammer, leaving him in a pool of blood.

The body of the victim laid on his residence floor for 11 days, said the deputy commissioner.

Diana, 48, and his six brothers and sisters were the citizens of the United States (US).

He came to Bangladesh two years ago, said the officer.
