Keep young generation away from gang culture, TikTok, Likee: President

President M Abdul Hamid has called upon guardians to remain vigilant of the influence of teen gangs, TikTok or Likee, so that children do not fall prey to human trafficking or any other criminal activities.

The president said this in a recorded speech addressing a discussion marking the Human Rights Day-2021 in Dhaka on Friday.

“I urge parents to be vigilant so that soft-hearted learners don’t fall prey to human trafficking or any other criminal activities through teen gangs, TikTok or Likee," President M Abdul Hamid said.

The event was organised by The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) at the auditorium of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh.

“Horrors of human trafficking and drug abuse are creating chaos in the society… Many families are being destroyed due to this. We have to keep the young generation away from such threats,” he added.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anisul Haque, Secretary to the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department Md Moinul Kabir, Resident Representative of UN Development Program Sudipta Mukherjee and Permanent Member of National Human Rights Commission Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
