Cold wave imminent from Monday


A cold wave is expected to sweep over the country from Monday, said an official of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday.

The temperature all over the country will start to fall from Saturday, and there’s a high chance of a cold wave starting from Monday, said meteorologist Omar Faruq.

Starting from 6:00pm on Saturday, day temperature all across the country might increase slightly. The weather will remain dry, and the sky over most of the country will remain partially cloudy.

There is no possibility of rain anytime soon. Light fog during the morning is likely to occur at some places over the country, said a met office release on Sunday.

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.

As the cold wave starts, the temperature in some places in the country might fall below 10 degrees Celcius. The temperature will be especially low in Rangpur, Jashore, Rajshahi, and Srimangal.

The maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded by 30.1 degrees celsius at Cox's Bazar and the minimum today was recorded by 09.9 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

Sun will set at 05:13 pm on Sunday and will rise at 06:32 am on Monday.
