President to offer Eid-ul-Azha prayers at Bangabhaban


President M Abdul Hamid will offer the prayers of Eid-ul-Azha, one of the greatest religious festivals of the Muslims, along with his family members and some officials at the Hallway of the Bangabhaban in the capital tomorrow morning.

The head of the state is scheduled to say his Eid prayers maintaining health rules, including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing at the Presidential palace at about 8:30 am, according to a Bangabhaban spokesman.

Due to the sudden spate of COVID-19 outbreak across the country like many other world countries, the President will not attend the traditional Eid prayers in the capital's National Eidgah Maidan this year.

Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jame Mosque Mufti Maulana Saiful Kabir will conduct the Eid prayers.

Secretaries concerned to the President Office, only some other key officials and staff are expected to attend the Eid prayers.

After the prayers, President Hamid will spend his time with his family members at Bangabhaban.

But no ceremonial greetings with serving delicious food items, in presence of the country's distinguished personalities and foreign diplomats or guests, will be held there, the spokesman added.
