Youth held during 500 dead chicken sale

A youth was held during selling 500 dead chickens at Notun Bazzar in Magura on Wednesday.

The arrestee has been identified as Rezaul Islam, son of chicken trader Rafikul Islam in the area.

Being tipped off, Magura Municipality butchery house inspector Riaz Khan conducted a raid at the place and arrested Rezaul with the dead chickens but his father Rafikul fled the scene.

Rafikul had been buying dead chicken from outside of the district for a long, he said.

During the raid, Rafikul along with his son was selling dead chickens at the house, Riaz Khan said adding that the dead chicken weighing 400 kilogram were being prepared for various hotels in the district.

Stern action will be taken against Rezaul, he said.
