Leaders and activists of Awami League from various parts of the city have started coming with processions to attend the peace rally at the South Gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
Leaders and activists of Awami League from different wards, thanas and upazilas (sub-districts) of Dhaka city and Dhaka district have congregated at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque south gate premises.
The political atmosphere in the city is charged as the Awami League held a peaceful rally at the southern gate of Baitul Mukarram, simultaneously with the BNP's grand rally in Naya Paltan.
The peace rally is organized by the Dhaka North and South Awami League. The General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Obaidul Quader, will address the rally as chief guest later on the day.
Against the backdrop of a dynamic and bustling Dhaka city, representatives from Bangladesh Awami League and its affiliated organizations are addressing the gathering at the peace rally.
The event symbolizes the solidarity of local leaders and activists who have come together to make their voices heard.
Themed "Peace and Development," the Awami League event opposed what they termed a conspiracy by the BNP and Jamaat involving militancy and anti-state activities.
Heavy police presence blocked off roads to Baitul Mukarram as Awami League members concentrated carrying banners. Party leaders are addressing the crowd, emphasizing their commitment to order and stability.
Gradually, the assembly is growing in size, resembling a sea of supporters of the Awami League. Additionally, in the peripheral neighborhoods in the city, the Awami League and its affiliated organizations have set up vigilance and informational booths to ensure the safety and coordination of their participants.
The peace rally at Baitul Mukarram represents an epitome of democratic expression and the dedication of these leaders and activists to their cause.
