China firmly supports Bangladesh in safeguarding judicial sovereignty: Ambassador

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen on Thursday said his country supports Bangladesh firmly in opposing external interference and safeguarding judicial sovereignty.

“China is willing to further deepen judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two countries,” he said while paying a courtesy call on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq at his secretariat office in Dhaka.

Ambassador Wen congratulated Anisul on his reappointment as the minister for law, justice and parliamentary affairs.

At the meeting, the minister thanked China for its long-term firm support to Bangladesh in safeguarding sovereignty and opposing external interference.

Appreciating China’s role in the facilitation and contribution to Bangladesh’s development, Anisul said the traditional friendship between Bangladesh and China has laid a concrete foundation for judicial cooperation between the two countries.

“Bangladesh is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with China in judicial cooperation,” he added.

Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division Secretary Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury and the political director of the embassy were also present.
